The stand of Chinese Changuy winery at Vinexpo Hong Kong hosted the opening ceremony of the first “World Cabernet Gernischt Day” on May 25th, 2016. Jeannie Cho Lee MW, Thierry Desseauve, secretary of Wine branch of China Wine Association Wang Zuming and deputy secretary of Grapes branch of Chinese Association of Agricultural Science Society Li Demei attended. Vinexpo CEO, Guillaume Deglise visited the Changyu stand. He also tasted some Changyu Noble Dragon Dry Red Wine which is mainly made of Cabernet Gernischt and also had a sip of Changyu Golden Valley Icewine.
At present, Cabernet Gernischt has become the only internationally recognized grape variety cultivated by the Chinese. And “World Cabernet Girnischt Day” celebrates it. “World Cabernet Girnischt Day” will also help let consumers around the world learn more about some representative Cabernet Gernischt wines such as the Changyu Noble Dragon Dry Red Wine.
The quality of Changyu Golden Valley Icewine surprised Guillaume Deglise much, he wrote an inscription for it on the Changyu stand wall, “China, new origin for Ice Wine. Congratulations!”.
